Colleen Blum Recognized by Employee Benefit Advisor
Colleen Blum, Insurance Advisor at Combs & Company, was recognized by Employee Benefit Advisor as one of the 20 Best Rising Stars in Advising. In the last year, Colleen has increased her book of business by more than 400%. Engaged in consulting contracts with clients, she has also discovered cross-selling opportunities and grown the small group business wing of her company while serving on the steering committee for the formation of the WIFS Long Island Chapter.

National Life Group Joins with Women in Insurance & Financial Services in 2017
Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) is pleased to announce that National Life Group has partnered with WIFS at the Ambassador level. National Life Group's partnership demonstrates its dedication to supporting the career advancement of women in insurance and financial services.

Northwestern Mutual Joins Forces with Women in Insurance & Financial Services in 2017 to Help Advance Careers
Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) announced today the formation of a new partnership with Northwestern Mutual focused on developing opportunities for women in the insurance and finances services industry. Northwestern Mutual's ambassador-level partnership demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to career advancement as well as the creation of networking and mentoring opportunities for women in the industry.

Jocelyn Wright Featured in The American College Faculty Spotlight
Jocelyn D. Wright, MBA, CFP®, Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies at The American College of Financial Services, was featured in The American College Faculty Spotlight. Professor Wright is a champion for women’s financial success and advancement in the financial services profession. She has authored numerous financial assessment profiles for Black Enterprise magazine, hosted a weekly radio show called The Bottom Line on 900AM-WURD, created a financial education series called Debt Boot Camp, and spearheads the FA 204: Marketing Financial Services to Women course offered at The College.
In addition to her roles at The College, Professor Wright is the founder and managing partner of The Ascension Group (Ascension), where she has been working with individuals to help make their financial dreams possible since 2002.
Daily Record Names Talley Kovacs To Top 100 Women
Talley H-S Kovacs, Esq. has been named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women by the Daily Record. An associate attorney with Pessin Katz Law, P.A., Talley is a member of WIFS Maryland, the United Way of Central Maryland Baltimore City Partnership Board, Women United, and Emerging Leaders United Ambassador, and a former board member with the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance.
Top 100 Women recognizes high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service and mentoring. They are judged on professional experience, community involvement and their commitment to inspiring change. Evelyn’s successful 25 year career has been in leadership focused on attracting and developing advisors in the financial services industry. She specializes in helping advisors build strategic alliances and partner with CPA's and P &C firms.
WIFS Previews 80 Year History Video at National Conference
2016 National Conference in Chicago marked the debut of the WIFS 80 Year historical video. The video details the association's origins in 1936 through their break with WLUC to become an independant organization.
Samantha Clark Highlighted As An Industry Trailblazer
Samantha Clark, vice president and managing director at National Financial Network, is featured in NAIFA's Advisor Today as part of their 4UnderForty trailblazer series. Samantha began her career with an internship at the World Trade Center that put her in "the hustle and bustle of Wall Street." Now with National, she enjoys partnering with passionate entrepreneurs.
She joined WIFS and launched the Buffalo Chapter to "provide encouragement and mentorship to women considering careers as advisors." She recently relocated to Long Island and is in the early stages of starting a Chapter there.
Cheryl Canzanalla Assumes Role of Presidency With NAIFA Jacksonville
Cheryl Canzanella, LUTCF Brokerage Director of Financial Design Associates, officially began her term as President of the Jacksonville Chapter of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
Canzanella previously served as the National Marketing Committee Chair, Florida’s Young Advisors Team Chair, Jacksonville’s Young Advisors Team Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and President-Elect by the membership of NAIFA. She received NAIFA-Florida’s Presidents Award in 2014. She is the Founding Past President of Women in Insurance and Financial Services Northeast Florida and has served in many capacities for WIFS National of which she won Member of the Year in 2015.
