If you have been feeling stressed, anxious, and find yourself tossing and turning at night, you are not alone. Recent studies uncovered that in the last six months the quality of sleep many people are getting has dropped significantly and stress and anxiety have skyrocketed.

It is completely understandable as we try to juggle work and home life. Instead of working from home it can feel like we are living at work.

We cannot ignore managing stress and optimizing sleep as we now know that lack of sleep and unmanaged stress significantly increase the risk of dementia, burnout and getting sick with viruses.

Sounds scary, but the good and hopeful news is that with actionable and simple strategies you can get high quality, brain boosting sleep, and take control of stress.

So what works when it comes to managing stress and anxiety?

I think we can relate to what does not work. Being told to “just relax or calm down.” Or just “Get more sleep.”

Thankfully, cutting-edge brain science is now giving us simple to implement and actionable steps to significantly improve sleep and manage stress. Little things can make a big difference.

Here’s a quick science-based tip.

In the hour prior to going to bed, get a pen and paper and write down all the things on your to-do list for the next day and anything that is worrying you.

Research shows that this simple action allows people to get a significantly better night’s sleep and enter deeper stages of sleep. Why? Once we write it down, our brains register that the information is stored somewhere safe. Once this information is stored safely it won’t wake us up at 2 a.m. to remind us to think about it.

In my upcoming virtual presentation, I am excited to share with you more science-based solutions to transform your sleep and stress. You will learn how to fall asleep faster and stay asleep using a two-minute technique utilized by fighter pilots. This type of sleep can boost energy, slow aging and maximize your memory. I will also share with you three science-based solutions proven to control stress and anxiety you can use each day. I look forward to sharing these breakthrough insights on to be the healthiest version of you today, tomorrow and years to come.
